“I wear black and white because it’s easy.” I hear this a lot (especially from men) and I get it. It seems safer and faster to stick with basic colors so you don’t have to decide if THIS goes with THAT. You don’t have to risk looking off if the colors you choose don’t quite work together.

Here are 3 tips to add more color into your wardrobe and still feel like yourself.
Tip #1: Neutral Colors Do Not Mean Boring Colors
There are more neutrals than you think. Let’s reconsider what’s considered neutral, besides khaki, navy, gray, black, and white.
Maroon, sage, and loden green can work as neutrals too, much like black or gray, and pair with pieces you already own.
Let’s say you’re choosing a shirt.
Instead of white → try a light sage. 
Instead of a basic black jacket → try maroon
Maroon works like brown does. It’s rich enough to feel intentional but neutral enough to pair with almost everything, the same way your black jacket does.
Tip #2: Choose a piece you already love, and get it in another color
Got a favorite pair of khakis? Try the same style in rust or olive. You already know you love the fit. Take a chance! 
Or maybe there’s a henley you love, skip the basic gray or white, and try it in burnt sienna. Even better if you pair it with a cool deep brown pant instead of black, as pictured.
Tip #3: Add color in small ways
Start with some layered bracelets, a scarf in a rich oxblood or teal, or shoes in a fresh color.
The oxblood pieces add a stylish touch to this outfit and the hint of color in the boots…how great is that? Adding an accent color can make a familiar black or gray outfit feel completely different.
